Nikki and Kevin first met in Sacramento, where they decided a climbing gym would be the perfect place for a first date —because nothing says romance like harnesses, chalky hands, and the thrill of competition. Luckily, instead of falling, they both just fell for each other. By the end of that first date, they were already smitten.

Since then, they’ve built a life defined by equal parts adventure and ambition. They’ve lived in three cities together, cheered each other through the triumphs (and occasional stress spirals) of earning a master’s degree and a nursing degree, and explored corners of the world far beyond California. They’ve climbed mountains, biked miles upon miles, and become experts in combing through estate sales for the perfect piece of antique mid-century modern furniture.

Through every move, milestone, and slightly overly ambitious adventure, Nikki and Kevin built not just a life together, but a community they deeply cherish. From lifelong friends to chosen family in each new city, Nikki and Kevin feel endlessly grateful for the people who have supported, encouraged, and laughed alongside them through every chapter.
